There's Hello Kitty! And noodles! And lots of kids. I can't wait to get him out to Japan and see what kind of baseball he can get into. He has REALLY grown in the sport in the last couple of years. They lost, but it was hard fought on both sides. They went into extra innings, and Scooter pitched the last three. Scooter's last baseball game was last night, they did so well. (And I think Miss V will be glad to see Miss Face go far, far away.) Tim is fantastic and just had to leave his own kitty behind, so it will be a nice change for both of them. Miss Violet will be staying with my buddy Tim, who will take good care of her. We take off on the 8th, so I guess they can just enjoy the hotel pool and relax before our trip. The kids are all ready to be done with school. I thought I would start a blog to keep all of our friends/family updated and informed on what we're up to (and make it a convenient place to post pictures and updates.) We're sitting at 7 days left to get all of our stuff moved out and get our butts to Japan! Off to pack the last remaining things in their original boxes before the movers get here! I'll be very sad to see her go, but I saw a pink Nissan Cube for sale in the Yokosuka classifieds for a reasonable price! I'm hoping it's still there when I get my license. The appliances go out on Wednesday (they'll be in storage, they won't fit in a Japanese home) and I drop my beloved Roxy off for storage on Thursday. We're giving thos to my buddy who took Miss Violet. We have everything we're taking with us on the plane sequestered in another room, including a big box of non-perishables we can't take. The acoustics of the house totally changed! (Said a buddy - "Just like an ST to notice the acoustic change!") Whatever made us notice, it's spooky! Also a fun fact: our refrigerator is black! I took all of the photos and magnets off yesterday and wow does the kitchen look different! We spent the weekend taking everything off the walls and disconnecting computers and the like.

I will keep you updated, and as soon as I get my computer back, I promise pictures! I don't think Ii can post them from my iPad. Depending on where we end up living, he may end up taking trains home, so we need him to be able to call us. Took me, like 48 hours to get it, but I survived. (Shoot me an email/msg me on FB and I'll send it to you.) I have my own PO Box at work, it's a regular FPO, so I can buy stuff online now. Oh! And we have an address! Or at least I do. J will check in to work and be gone pretty quickly for most of the summer, so we're trying to get as much exploring done as we can before he has to go. We can't wait! They will be doing activities like swimming and movies and hikes, so it will be nice for them to get out of the house (hotel) and see some new thingss. El Jefe is hanging out with the kiddos, who start "summer camp" on Monday. My hard hat was waiting for me on my desk and I have already dropped off a few things trying to make it a little more homey. I don't have email yet, but I got my desk and my locker and put my request in for my bike. I checked in to work on Monday and I'm learning how things work there. The Lodge is nice, with a little kitchenette and plenty of space for our bags, but it sure isn't home! I'm hoping to move soon, though, so I may take our second choice if it's available sooner. There are a few different housing areas we could live in, depending on the waiting list. The list doesn't look too bad, but we're in wait and see mode. El Jefe and I attended a housing brief yesterday and got our names on the waiting list. The Navy Lodge had been all booked for us and we're settled in nicely. Wow! So it's been a while, and I apologize for that.
